Alta Badia: La Villa
La
Villa It is the most central village in Alta Badia, placed at the foot
of the Gardenazza and of the Piz La Villa, and the Ciastel Colz dominates
it, ancient castle placed in the oldest part of the centre, where also
the church is. The meadows of the valley floor, which moderate the suggestive
stateliness of the Dolomites' ramparts, still preserve the clearly visible
traces of the ancient rural settlements: les "viles". The village is also
characterized by comfortable hotels and accommodations, which helped in
turning it into an international well renowned tourist destination.
